SWIPE LEFT TO SEE FOOD LIST

    Mid-Year Fast 2026

Welcome to Salem Community Church's Mid-Year Fast.

Dates: Friday, July 18th – Friday, July 24th

    Theme: Reset

Throughout Scripture, before God brought His people into a new season, He first called them to seek Him. Before Israel entered the Promised Land, God prepared them. Before Moses continued leading the people, he sought God's presence. Before Elijah returned to ministry, God restored him in the secret place. Before Jesus began His public ministry, He fasted in the wilderness. God often prepares us privately before He moves publicly.

As we enter the second half of 2026, we believe the Lord is inviting us to RESET.

A reset is not about starting over because God has abandoned us. It is about returning to His presence so He can realign our hearts, renew our minds, restore our relationships, strengthen our faith, and recommission us for His purpose.

This seven-day fast is not merely about abstaining from food. It is about making room for God to do a deeper work within us.

May every day draw us closer to Him, transform us by His Spirit, and prepare us for everything He has ordained for the remainder of this year.We believe our greatest days are not behind us, but ahead. Together, let us seek God's presence, declare His promises, and prepare to step into the next level of His glory.

DAY 1 – Focus: Return in Thanksgiving and Praise

As we begin our Divine Reset fast, God is inviting us to start in the right position—not with requests, but with thanksgiving and praise. The first half of the year may have brought victories, but it may also have brought disappointments, delays, unanswered prayers, and seasons of weariness. If we're not careful, those experiences can cause us to focus more on what we have lost than on the faithfulness of the God who has carried us.

A reset begins by changing our perspective. Before God changes our circumstances, He often changes our hearts. Thanksgiving shifts our focus from our problems to God's promises. Praise reminds us that God is still worthy, still faithful, and still in control regardless of what we have faced.

Throughout Scripture, God's people were encouraged to enter His presence with thanksgiving. Psalm 100:4 says: "Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and bless His name." Notice that thanksgiving is not the result of being in God's presence—it is the way we enter His presence.

As we begin this fast, we are intentionally laying down every complaint, every burden, every disappointment, and every anxious thought. We are choosing to remember God's goodness, celebrate His faithfulness, and honor Him for who He is before asking Him for what He will do.

Praise is an act of faith. Thanksgiving is a declaration that God has been good, God is good, and God will continue to be good. Today, we reset our hearts by returning to gratitude. We choose worship over worry, faith over fear, and praise over pessimism. As we do, we make room for God to renew our spirits, restore our joy, and prepare us for all that He desires to accomplish in us during this fast.

With hearts full of thanksgiving and mouths filled with praise, let us now come before the Lord in prayer.

    • Thank you  for every prayer you  have answered and every prayer you are still working behind the scenes to fulfill.

    • Strengthen my faith to trust your timing and your perfect will.

    • Help me rejoice in your faithfulness rather than in my circumstances.

    Evening Prayers

    • Welcoming the Holy Spirit: Holy Spirit, I welcome you into every area of my life during this fast.

    • Fill me afresh with your presence and your power.

    • Lead every prayer I pray throughout the fast, give me ears to hear what you are saying in this season.

    Scriptures: Psalm 100:4, Psalm 124:1–8; 1 Thessalonians 5:16–18 ; Ephesians 5:18 ; John 16:13

DAY 2 – Focus: Reset the Heart

Before we ask God for direction, breakthrough, or answers during this fast, we must first allow Him to examine our hearts. Fasting and prayer are not merely outward disciplines—they are invitations for God to search our inner lives.

A person can faithfully attend prayer meetings, fast consistently, and still miss what God desires to reveal because the condition of the heart has not been dealt with.

The condition of our heart is often subtle. We may not recognize what is hidden within us until the Holy Spirit begins to search us and reveal our true spiritual condition.

Prayer is not simply words spoken from our mouths—it flows from the heart.

In Revelation, our prayers are pictured in heaven as incense before the Lord

    Revelation 5:8

"And when He had taken it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of God's people."

We may pray with our mouths, but God is looking at the heart from which those prayers come. Our lips can say one thing while our hearts are holding onto something completely different. God sees both.

    Guard Your Heart

The enemy understands the importance of our hearts. That is why he continually seeks to poison them with bitterness, offense, jealousy, hatred, anger, hurt, disappointment, betrayal, envy, pride, unforgiveness, and sadness.

These things quietly contaminate our worship, our prayers, and our fellowship with God.

During this fast, let us guard our hearts and refuse to allow our prayers—our incense before the Lord—to become mixed with bitterness, resentment, or unforgiveness.

May our incense rise before Him pure, holy, and pleasing.

A man or woman of God must remain tender before the Lord.

    Prayer Points

    Morning Prayers

    • Holy Spirit, search my heart and reveal anything that is not pleasing to you.

    • Expose every root of bitterness, offense, pride, jealousy, unforgiveness, hurt, disappointment, or hidden sin.

    • Help me release every burden, every offense, every wound, and every person I have been holding onto.

    Afternoon Prayers

    • Remove spiritual hardness and areas where I have become resistant to His voice.

    • Help me to move beyond religious routines into genuine relationship.

    • Give me a heart that seeks God's will above my own.

    Evening Prayers

    • Purify my heart so that my prayers will rise before You as a sweet and pleasing incense.

    • Give me a tender, humble, and obedient heart that is fully surrendered to You.

    • Give me wisdom to make decisions that honor You.

    Scriptures: Psalm 51:10; Proverbs 4:23; Psalm 139:23–24

DAY 3 – Focus: Renew the Mind - Putting Off the Old Man

As we continue our Divine Reset fast, today we focus on renewing the mind. The greatest battles we fight are often not around us—they are within us. Discouragement, fear, exhaustion, disappointment, and negative thoughts can cloud our perspective and keep us from seeing what God is doing.

One of the greatest examples of this is the prophet Elijah in 1 Kings. Just days after witnessing one of God's greatest miracles on Mount Carmel, Elijah fled in fear from Queen Jezebel. Overwhelmed, exhausted, and emotionally drained, he sat under a broom tree and prayed, "It is enough! Now, Lord, take my life..." (1 Kings 19:4).

Elijah's circumstances had not changed as much as his perspective had. Weariness had distorted his thinking, causing him to believe he was alone, defeated, and finished. But God did not abandon him. Instead, He met Elijah with compassion. He gave him rest, provided for his physical needs, reminded him of His presence, corrected the lies Elijah believed, and renewed his assignment.

How many times have we allowed fatigue, disappointment, or fear to shape our thoughts? The enemy knows that if he can influence our minds, he can weaken our faith. But God desires to reset the way we think.

Romans 12:2 says: "Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind." Today, we invite God to expose every lie we have believed, break every unhealthy thought pattern, and replace fear with faith, despair with hope, and confusion with peace. As He renewed Elijah's mind and restored his purpose, He can do the same for us.

    Prayer Points

    Morning Prayers

    • Father, I thank You that my old self was crucified with Christ.

    • Help me to put off every old habit, sinful desire, and way of thinking that does not reflect my new identity in You.

    • Lord, renew my mind by the power of Your Holy Spirit and Your Word.

    Afternoon Prayers

    • Remove every worldly mindset and transform my thoughts so that they align with Your truth and Your will.

    • Holy Spirit, expose every lie, deception, and stronghold that has taken root in my mind.

    • Replace every lie with the truth of Your Word so that I may walk in freedom and victory.

    Evening Prayers

    • Father, help me to crucify the desires of the flesh each day and to walk in obedience to the Spirit.

    • Teach me to deny myself, take up my cross daily, and follow Christ wholeheartedly.

    • Lord, give me the mind of Christ.

    • Help me to discern Your voice above every other voice, grow in wisdom and spiritual understanding, and live according to the new life You have given me.

    Scriptures: Romans 6:6–11; Romans 12:2; Ephesians 4:22–24; Colossians 3:9–10; Galatians 2:20; 2 Corinthians 10:5

DAY 4 – Focus: Restore Relationships

As we continue our Divine Reset fast, today we focus on restoring our relationships with God and with others. A true reset is not just about changing our circumstances—it is about restoring what has become distant or broken.

Life has a way of creating distance. Through busyness, disappointment, sin, hurt, or offense, we can drift from God's presence and allow broken relationships to weigh heavily on our hearts. But God's desire has always been reconciliation.

When Jesus was asked about the greatest commandment, He replied in Matthew:37–39: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart... and love your neighbor as yourself." Our relationship with God is reflected in how we love and relate to others.

The story of the prodigal son in Luke reminds us that no matter how far we have wandered, our Heavenly Father is always ready to welcome us home. His arms remain open to those who return to Him with humble hearts.

Today, we ask the Lord to restore our intimacy with Him and to heal the relationships in our lives that have been damaged by hurt, pride, or unforgiveness. We pray for hearts that are quick to forgive, eager to seek peace, and willing to extend the same grace that Christ has shown us.

As we draw closer to God, may He also restore our relationships with one another, bringing healing, unity, and peace so that we can walk in the freedom He desires for us.

    Prayer Points

    Morning Prayers

    • Father, restore my relationship with you and draw me closer into your presence.

    • Remove anything that has created distance between us, and renew my love, devotion, and intimacy with you.

    • Lord, by the power of your Holy Spirit, help me to forgive everyone who has hurt, offended, or disappointed me.

    Afternoon Prayers

    • Free my heart from bitterness and teach me to extend the same grace and mercy that you have shown me.

    • Father, reveal any way that I have hurt or offended others.

    • Give me the humility to seek forgiveness, make things right, and pursue peace and reconciliation wherever possible.

    Evening Prayers

    • Lord, let there be unity, love, and harmony within Salem Community Church.

    • Strengthen the bond among our pastors, leaders, ministries, and congregation so that we may serve you with one heart, one mind, and one purpose.

    • Father, bring healing and restoration to every marriage, family, and friendship that has been affected by hurt, division, misunderstanding, or brokenness.

    • Restore what has been damaged, strengthen every relationship according to your will, and let your love be the foundation of every home.

    Scriptures: James 4:8; Matthew 6:14–15; Matthew 5:23–24; John 17:21; Ephesians 4:2–3

DAY 5 – Focus: Recommit to God's Purpose

As we continue our Divine Reset fast, today we turn our attention to recommitting ourselves to God's purpose. A reset is not only about what God removes from our lives—it is also about rediscovering why He called us in the first place.

The busyness of life, unexpected challenges, disappointments, and even success can cause us to lose sight of God's assignment. We can become so focused on simply getting through each day that we forget we have been called to live intentionally for His Kingdom.

The prophet Isaiah gives us a powerful example in Isaiah. After encountering the holiness and glory of God, Isaiah heard the Lord ask, "Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?" Without hesitation, Isaiah responded, "Here am I! Send me."

God is still asking that question today. He is looking for men and women who are willing to say, "Lord, wherever You lead, I will follow. Whatever You ask of me, I will do."

Ephesians 2:10 reminds us: "For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” Each of us has been created with a divine purpose. We are not here by accident. God has a unique calling, an assignment, and a work for each of us to accomplish for His glory.

Today, we recommit ourselves to God's purpose. We lay aside distractions, surrender our own plans, and ask the Holy Spirit to renew our passion for His calling. May our prayer be the same as Isaiah's: "Here am I, Lord. Send me." May we leave this day with a fresh desire to live intentionally, serve faithfully, and fulfill God's purpose for the rest of this year and beyond.

    Prayer Points

    Morning Prayers

    • Father, I surrender my plans, desires, and expectations to your perfect will.

    • Help me to trust your ways above my own and to follow wherever  you lead.

    • Lord, reveal your purpose for my life in this next season.

    • Give me clarity, direction, and understanding so that I may walk confidently in the path you have prepared for me.

    Afternoon Prayers

    • Father, give me a willing and obedient heart to follow you , even when your direction stretches my faith or leads me outside of my comfort zone.

    • Help me to trust that your plans are always good.

    • Lord, I dedicate every gift, talent, ability, and resource you have entrusted to me back to you.

    Evening Prayers

    • Use my life for your glory and help me to serve faithfully wherever you have called me.

    • Father, fulfill your divine purpose through Salem Community Church.

    • Empower our pastors, leaders, and every member to faithfully accomplish the assignment you have given this house, so that we may impact our community and this generation for your Kingdom and bring glory to Your name.

    Scriptures: Proverbs 3:5–6; Jeremiah 29:11; Isaiah 6:8; Romans 12:1; Matthew 5:14–16

DAY 6 – Focus: Receive Fresh Strength

As we continue our Divine Reset fast, today we focus on receiving fresh strength from the Lord. Many of us entered this fast carrying the weight of a demanding year. We've poured into others, faced unexpected battles, endured disappointments, and fought through seasons of weariness. God never intended for us to live on empty. He invites us to come to Him so that He can renew our strength.

The prophet Isaiah declares in Isaiah:31: "But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint."

Notice that God doesn't simply promise strength—He promises renewed strength. He gives us what we need for the season we are in. What sustained us yesterday may not be enough for tomorrow, which is why we must continually come back to Him as our source.

Jesus also extends this invitation in Matthew:28: "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."

Today is an opportunity to exchange our exhaustion for His strength, our anxiety for His peace, and our striving for His grace. As we wait on the Lord, may He refresh our spirits, restore our joy, and fill us with new courage for the journey ahead.

As we approach the final day of our Divine Reset, let us receive all that God desires to pour into us, trusting that the same God who has carried us this far will strengthen us to finish the year with endurance, faith, and joy

    Prayer Points

    Morning Prayers

    • Father, renew my spiritual strength and refresh my soul.

    • Where I have become weary, discouraged, or spiritually drained, fill me again with your presence and power so that I may continue to walk faithfully with you.

    • Lord, grant me the endurance to remain steadfast and faithful throughout the rest of this year.

    Afternoon Prayers

    • Help me to persevere through every trial, remain committed to your will, and finish the race you have set before me with faith and obedience.

    • Father, pour out a fresh oil and a fresh anointing upon my life.

    • Empower me through your Holy Spirit to serve you effectively, walk in your purpose, and fulfill every assignment you have entrusted to me.

    Evening Prayers

    • Lord, replace every weariness, discouragement, and heaviness with the joy that comes from your presence.

    • Let the joy of the Lord be my strength and sustain me each day.

    • Father, fill me with spiritual boldness and courage to stand firm in my faith, proclaim your truth without fear, and obey your voice with confidence, knowing that you are always with me.

    Scriptures: Isaiah 40:31; Hebrews 12:1–2; Psalm 92:10; Nehemiah 8:10; Joshua 1:9

DAY 7 – Focus: Recommissioned for the Rest of the Year

As we come to the final day of our Divine Reset fast, today we focus on being recommissioned for the rest of the year. This week has been a journey of returning to God—resetting our hearts through thanksgiving and praise, renewing our minds, restoring our relationships, recommitting to His purpose, and receiving fresh strength.

Now, we stand ready to move forward with renewed vision and fresh commitment.

A reset is not meant to keep us in a place of reflection forever—it prepares us for action. God restores us so He can send us. He strengthens us so we can continue the assignment He has given us.

After the disciples experienced the death and resurrection of Jesus, they were not left without purpose. In Matthew:19–20, Jesus commissioned them: "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations... and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

The same God who calls us is the God who equips us. We do not enter the second half of this year relying only on our own strength, wisdom, or ability. We move forward with the presence, power, and guidance of the Holy Spirit. Like Joshua standing at the edge of a new season, God reminds us in Joshua:9: "Be strong and courageous... for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."

Today, we declare that we will not finish this year the way we started. We are moving forward with renewed faith, greater obedience, and a deeper commitment to God's purpose. We are leaving behind what has weighed us down and stepping into what God has prepared for us.

As we close this fast, our prayer is simple: "Lord, send me. Use me. Strengthen me. Let the remainder of this year bring glory to Your name."

May this Divine Reset not only change how we feel, but transform how we walk, serve, love, and fulfill the assignment God has placed on our lives. We are not just refreshed—we are recommissioned.
